African American Weight Watchers. "This group
was created because we as African Americans need to take
our health more seriously. In doing so sometimes we need
encouragement, we need advice, we need support, we need to
talk or we just might need a friend.
This group is for both the African American Man as well as
Woman who has a weight problem, trouble dieting, or has
been successful losing weight and needs encouragement as
they work to maintain it.
We will not allow anyone to criticize anyone. Everyone
will be treated with respect."

A-hand-with-dieting. "This list is for people
who are dieting, or trying to. If you need or want to lose
weight but either have trouble sticking with it or gaining
back lets chat, give each other support. This is called A
hand with dieting, because you can reach out via your
e-mail, and hopefully we will all be there for each other,
to lend a hand listen and exchange tips, or to vent if we
need to. but please keep it clean If you need to vent. And
please remember it does not matter if you have a little or
a lot to lose. A weight problem is a weight problem.
Please do not post any Advertisement to this list of any
kind Thank You." Yahoo! group.

All About Losing More. "Please read full
description before joining: For people - like me, I weigh
230 pounds - that want to lose weight and feel great - but
MORE important CHANGE their lifestyle moderately until
your lifestyle leads your way to health! I am a former
weight lifter and exercise/nutrition freak, but I lost my
way when I got cancer, I want it back, all of it and with
you by my side I know I can do it and so can you! 95% of
programs that require you to "eat this and not that" have
been proven to FAIL you! That means only 5 percent of
people who go on "DIETS" are successful. So we are NOT
dieting! YEY! No dieting, none, zip, nata! Instead we are
learning to eat healthy, exercise and support, support,
support one another by sharing ideas and encouragement!
There is a catch to joining: YOU MUST POST, no lounging
acts please, we NEED you!! You MUST post the following:
(daily if you could, it really helps!) Your first name (or
nickname), your exercise of the day or if you didn't, your
weight *ouch*, how you are feeling, what you ate or didn't
eat, then follow with the rest of your post. Why all that
much sharing? Because this will help us be accountable and
share those good days to encourage others and the bad ones
so we can get that awful guilt that brings us down when
things don't go well out there so others can encourage us!
We are human, we want so much to succeed, but we are often
impatient, here we will be patient and we will succeed! We
have to stop pretending to be perfect as this will only
cause us to feel like we've failed - and we WON'T FAIL! :)
Baby steps and baby goals will bring us tremendous
satisfaction."

Art of Nothingness. "A group for all the extreme
dieters our there. Extreme dieters are people who have a
very unique and highly controlled relationship with food.
This is not a place for those popular temporary fads or
crash diets; extreme dieting is about lifestyle choices.
If you want to pare down your very essence, if you believe
that much of the popular wisdom regarding nutrition is
false, if you believe in ritual fasting to purify, if you
believe that food can be worse than any drug and if you
believe that you are marked by everything you put into
your mouth then this is the club for you. Serious
beginners are welcome." Yahoo! group.

HealthyPlace.com. "Weight loss community."
- Overeaters
Anonymous. "Overeaters Anonymous offers a
program of recovery from compulsive overeating using the
Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of OA. Worldwide
meetings and other tools provide a fellowship of
experience, strength and hope where members respect one
another's anonymity. OA charges no dues or fees; it is
self-supporting through member contributions.
Unlike other organizations, OA is not just about weight
loss, obesity or diets; it addresses physical, emotional
and spiritual well-being. It is not a religious
organization and does not promote any particular diet. To
address weight loss, OA encourages members to develop a
food plan with a health care professional and a sponsor.
If you want to stop your compulsive eating, welcome to
Overeaters Anonymous."
